Research Alert: The Impact of Rapid Handpump Repairs
A new study coauthored by Dr. Stoler demonstrates the importance of restoring water services quickly in places like rural Kenya. When broken handpumps were fixed within 24 hrs, rates of child diarrhea plunged relative to longer fix times.

Research Alert: Resource Insecurity, Stress, and Mobility
Dr. Stoler contributed to a study showing that resource insecurity and fingernail cortisol concentrations (a stress biomarker) were associated with higher propensity for thinking about migrating during a historic drought in Kenya.

Research Alert: Unpredictable Water and Psychosocial Stress
A new study coauthored by Dr. Stoler quantified the negative effects of intermittent water supplies on stressful emotions and behaviors in multiple sites. Importantly, these effects were mitigated when water services were predictable.

Research Alert: Service Deserts for Pediatric Uveitis Care
Dr. Stoler and lab member Eliza Stuart (UM '22) co-authored an article that analyzed geographic disparities in the availability of specialist care for uveitis, a rare eye disease that can cause child blindness if not diagnosed early in life.
